When molten plastic material leaves the
barrel through the nozzle under high temperature, high pressure and high speed,
which is guided toward the final destination mold cavity. Its flow path is
called Feeding System of plastic injection molds, which consists of the sprue,
runners, gate and cold slug well-see figure below.
According to the basic principle of designing
gating system, when meeting the injected plastic part quality, it will also help to
improve the speed to shorten the molding cycle time.
Design of feeding system, we should be very
aware of the gating system will affect the appearance of the parts. During
the design process, we will often encounter such a situation-- the gate design
of products somewhere are reasonable, but it will affect the appearance of the products.
So we must set the gate in the other places. If it can not be achieved, we can
change the product structure.
We should also take into account the
automatic operation during injection molds. To achieve automatic operation, we must
guarantee at the time of mold opening, products and the runner system can
automatically fall off, gate and the product automatically separate as much as
possible.
Thirdly , we need to consider the follow-up
processes to the production of injection plastic parts. As a result of in fabrication,
assembly and management needs, we will set auxiliary flow to make some products
together.
